Six weeks into the winter bowling season and the first frost on the green, but only a light one. The winter membership has more than doubled that of last year, with good attendances despite some wet weather – only three lost days. Whilst winter membership applications are still being accepted, they are currently being held in abeyance in order to assess numbers and avoid being over subscribed on the day. It is anticipated that the situation will be reviewed at the end of November. Casual players are still welcome to turn up and play, but it has to be on the basis that members will take priority. This arrangement has not caused any problem to date as all those wishing to play have been accommodated.

The winter tournament has now commenced, with the deadline for completing the group matches being the 15th March.

Following a poll of members, it has been decided to trial a change of the Wednesday morning roll-up to an afternoon one. This trial will commence on Wednesday the 4th December (12.30 start) for three weeks, after which a decision will be made whether or not to continue with it.
